My name is Mandi Maycumber and I'm a Mental Health Counselor licensed in Washington State and California. I have 11 years of experience working with adult (18+) individuals and couples utilizing cognitive, humanistic approaches. For 8 years I have been supervising addictions counselors, behavioral health staff, therapists seeking independent licensure and presenting trainings for risk assessment. The problems that I work with the most often are relationship conflicts, anxiety, and addictions.

For trauma, I utilize narrative therapy and prolonged exposure. Couples can expect a series of assessment sessions culminating in feedback and targeted use of Gottman interventions. When helping individuals with anxiety, I utilize cognitive techniques. For life transitions, we will employ solution-focused techniques.

I am a dynamic and adaptable therapist on a mission to help people increase life satisfaction. Specializing in helping individuals and couples with relational distress by eliciting your vision for wellness and challenging your limiting beliefs within the context of a safe and empathetic therapeutic relationship.

I am enjoying building a small private practice while continuing toward completion of a PsyD in clinical psychology. I also hold a BA in Liberal Arts from the Evergreen State College, a certificate in Human Service Substance Abuse from Pierce College, Master of Arts in Psychology from Brandman University, certificate in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University. When I'm not working or studying, I enjoy mountaineering and being a toddler mom.
